GnomeBert gets the post office off to a splendid start each morning. But just as the letters need sorting, his ears begin to burn. There’s gossip brewing at the Tipsy Toad Tavern, and someone really ought to investigate.
He calls it keeping up with village affairs. Gnomezilla calls it leaving her with all the work.
Still, his heart is in the right place—even when the rest of him is at the tavern.
Gnomezilla may officially be the assistant, but she’s the reason the letters get sorted and the post office stays open while GnomeBert attends to his “village affairs.”
She has a clipboard, a knowing look, and very little patience for his latest excuse. She knows exactly where he’s gone—and suspects he’ll return with more gossip than useful information.
Beneath that no-nonsense exterior is a generous heart. Every letter matters to her, because she knows someone is waiting for it.
Dale carries the village post at his own steady pace. Gnomezilla keeps the letters sorted; Dale makes sure they reach someone’s door.
He may stop for a chat along the way, but he knows a letter can mean the world to the person waiting for it. Some things are worth taking your time over.
